IT’S A FAMILY THING.
Back in the day we were a family-run French ski school with a twist. Rather than the one size fits all approach to teaching, we wanted to respond and adapt to the needs of our clients. And so the ethos of Starski was born. More than 30 years later and we are stronger than ever and teaching the children of students we taught back in the day. STARSKI SKI & SNOWBOARD SCHOOL
1986
Starski was founded by ski instructors, Remi Lemaitre and Dominique Marie. Their ethos was to build a ski school to offer their clientele a more personalised ski experience. “From the beginning we didn’t put skiers in a box, we created a new one for them”.
2016
Jerome and Jeremy, son of Dominique, take over the management of the business. Jeremy looks after the administrative side of the business having made his first turns on snow with Starski over 30 years ago. He followed in his father’s footsteps, becoming an instructor and teaching within the family business. His co-director, Jerome, runs the operational side, managing the instructor team and lesson planning. Jerome is a former professional-rider sponsored by Rossignol. He teaches skiing, snowboarding, paragliding and speed-riding. He has lived and worked in the resort since 2014.
2019
The school leaves SIMS, the union of ski instructors to affiliate with the Oxygene group of ski & snowboard schools. They did this so they could concentrate on what they do best, tailoring their approach to their clients, Joining the new group means they can delegate certain elements of the running of the school and benefit from the support and structure of the group. This gives them more time to focus on the quality of their offering in resort.
